Entry
Requirements

Students enrolling into this course must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Complete an Upfront Assessment of Need (UAN)
  • Complete a literacy, numeracy and digital literacy assessment
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible visa holder for funded positions
  • Have access to a computer or laptop with reliable internet access
  • Be able to participate in online virtual classroom sessions via Zoom
  • Possess sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete course requirements

There are no formal prerequisite units for this qualification.

Work
Placement

This qualification requires students to complete a minimum of 200 hours of mandatory work placement within a community services environment.

Students should be available for approximately two days per week outside scheduled class days to complete placement requirements.

Angel Institute provides support in securing suitable work placement opportunities through established industry partnerships. Students may also nominate their own placement provider, subject to approval.

While every effort is made to secure placement opportunities within reasonable proximity to the student’s residence, placement locations may vary depending on availability and service capacity.

Requirements for Workplace

Students undertaking work placement must:

  • Complete placement within an approved community services organisation
  • Follow workplace policies and procedures
  • Complete workplace-based assessment activities
  • Work under the supervision of an approved workplace supervisor
  • Meet all placement requirements outlined by the training provider

Students are also expected to have access to:

  • A computer or laptop with minimum 8GB RAM (16GB recommended)
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Webcam and microphone
  • Microsoft Office or equivalent software
  • Modern web browser
  • General stationery and study materials
  • A suitable quiet study space
